Rev. Benjamin Ruggles crypt44 viewsOften the finest and most elaborate gravestone in a colonial era graveyard is that of a beloved minister. This striking redstone crypt was erected in 1858 on the 150th anniversary of the death of Rev. Benjamin Ruggles. He died in 1708 at the age of 32. He graduated from Harvard and served just ten years as the first minister of Suffield before he died.
